South Korean band BTS announces "break"

The band has generated more than a billion dollars in revenue from its online content and album sales

Biden hosted the band at the White House to refute the idea of racism

The famous K-pop band BTS has announced a " break "because it is" exhausted" so that each of its seven young members can focus on his career after the global success of the band, which generates billions of dollars for the South Korean economy.

The company "Hype", which manages the band's business, tried to soften the impact of the news, assuring AFP that the seven young people will continue to work together. The company's stock price fell on the stock exchange on Wednesday morning.

US President Joe Biden's recent reception of the South Korean boy band seven to denounce racism targeting Asians in the United States from the White House podium was a clear proof of how great its impact is on a section of globalized youth.

Social media sites reflected the resounding impact of this announcement, which the band launched during a dinner that was transmitted online on the ninth anniversary of its founding.

The band of seven twenty-something artists 2021 generated more than a billion dollars in revenue from its online content and album sales.

"BTS" is also considered a multibillion-dollar pump for the economy of her country South Korea.

The 27-year-old member of the band "RM" explained that he and his colleagues, after being nominated several times for Grammy Awards dedicated to the American music industry, "no longer know what band they are," adding that some members are "exhausted".

Hype, whose share price in Seoul fell 27% on Wednesday morning, told AFP that the band members "will launch individual and collective projects in parallel".

Previously, the band "BTS", which recently released an album called" Prof", includes an anthology of her works. That announced "breaks" in 2019 and 2021.

But band member Jay-hope stressed that this time the band needs a "change" and wants to "start a new chapter".

In 2020, the band was forced to cancel what was supposed to be its largest international tour ever, which included about 40 concerts.

From the end of November to the beginning of December, the South Korean band held a series of concerts in Los Angeles (USA), its first stage appearance since the beginning of the pandemic.

Last March, she sang "BTS" for the first time since 2019 in front of her South Korean audience during three concerts she held in Seoul.

President Biden took the initiative to invite the seven members of the South Korean brand, who wore dark suits, white shirts, and ties, to the White House on May 31 to denounce racism against Asians in the United States.

The US presidency saw in them "ambassadors of youth spreading a message of hope and optimism" to the world.

The seven-piece band was invited twice to the United Nations in 2018 and 2021, where they sang and spoke on topics such as climate change and the covid-19 pandemic.
